This periodical, the first number of which appeared in October, 1926, is published from the Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Kyoto Imperial University for the purpose of introducing to Japanese readers the latest achievements of physical chemistry.
It makes a point also of presenting reports on studies in physical chemistry carried out in the laboratory and in other laboratories connected with it in one way or another, and has already published about fifty original reports. Although some of these originals have been translated into foreign languages to be published in other periodicals or books, many others exist only in the Japanese version and accordingly the publication of these reports abroad has been greatly delayed.
To make up for that, in however small a degree, we begin with this number to insert some abstracts from the original reports in English and, as far as possible, to give tables and figures in English also, so as to enable foreign readers to get some idea of the studies.
